sappy mcfemale
ever have those mornings,
when
waking,
you dread
all that awaits you
ahead.
hating the list of tasks,
long, neverending
that will constitute your
day's worth
day's work
between the two
you
can no longer
distinguish
this morning: i awoke
with that knot
in the pit of my stomach.
until i heard the voice:
outside my window
voice of you,
voice of wind,
beckoning me,
willing me,
to come to,
to pull up the blinds
and then to see
azure sky
fluttering leaves
permeating breeze
and i knew that it
was enough
more than enough
that you me us that moment
was my day's worth
my day's work
regardless of what else might need
to be done
more than fine
so much better than ok
stretched out my fingers to embrace the day.
