normal like you, normal like me, normal like we

it's spring quarter.

it's raining. like really raining, not a little bit of pissant drizzle from a smattering of clouds before the wind sends them merrily on their way. and it has been cold and aqueous all weekend.

i spent the ENTIRE last three days doing work.

does anyone else sense conflict in what i just wrote?

so normally i don't really have pet peeves. clearly, when im tired, which is always after 9 pm, let's face it i'm just an old crotchety woman in a 21 year old body. and obviously, i have no transitional skills either.

but let's talk about pet peeves for a bit. do you have pet peeves? like, little itchy bitchy things that just get under your skin and irritate you to no end.

here's a few of mine:

unvacuumed rooms (well, only mine.)
paper. everything should be electronic. good man, every time you even open a book, somewhere a tufted tit mouse squawks its last breath, and a chimpanzee slides into lethal seizure.
make up on thirteen year olds. for the love of heaven go stick your face in a paint can, why don't you.
going to the bathroom with other females. i think we were all potty trained long ago, and the stall is only big enough for one.
seemingly openminded people who really...aren't. you know what i'm talking about. for fear of retribution i will stay silent here.

but here's the crowning pistachio (cherry is freudian, cherry is sexual, pistachio does NOT sound like penis!:) my greatest pet peeve is guys who tell you they want to be friends....but don't mean it.

/*induce mass+appropriate onomatoepia*/

i feel a lot of time women get a bad rap for either being cold or clingy once relationships end or never get to happen in the first place.

men should get equally the tough time, though.

because i have met so many guys who are all "oh, you're an intelligent, amazing girl. well, when you make up your mind about us, regardless, i want us to be friends."

empty words, such empty, empty words. for the minute the sexual initiative factor is eliminated:

aforementioned male: *poof* peace out!

this really really frustrates me. now yes i understand that things can be awkward or uncomfortable. but when i say peace out i mean complete cessation of communication or acknowledgement. it makes me wonder. if you don't care enough to talk to me since ass is out, what the hell were you going for in the first place?

and it's not that i'm bitter about situations that didn't pan out where maybe i wanted something the other didn't. on the contrary, i only pursue involvement with people that i like for being people: not for potential physical. and if it doesn't work out. well that's his perogative, but i will continue or at least want to talk to them because i initially like them for a reason, and sure wasn't just what they looked like or what I thought they could for me physically. i feel that comes off as me still being interested...but i'm not really. i like friends. lots of them. i like playing the social game that i was x'nayed from in high school.

because really i feel fundamentally, that at least for me, this whole male female interaction thing...well i can't take it that seriously. i haven't grown up yet, and personally feel just being a kid is A.O.K by me.

maybe i'm nuts, but isn't it all supposed to be fun?

time to sleep now. me and the bears. all seven of them.
